Aetna Medicare Advantage Plans 2021
Aetna is one of the biggest and most popular health insurance providers in the country, and they have a great lineup of Medicare Advantage plans. These powerful healthcare coverage plans are ideal for seniors who need to significantly reduce their out-of-pocket medical costs, and we want to tell you about the Aetna Medicare Advantage plans 2021 will be offering.
It’s too late to enroll in 2020 plans anymore. The year already started, so if you apply for a Medicare Advantage plan with Aetna or another insurance provider, you will start to receive coverage on January 1st, 2021. You can apply if you are just turning 65, from up to three months before your birthday to three months after your birthday. This Open Enrollment period is a good time to apply because Aetna cannot deny your application or charge you more just because you might be a health risk.
You could also apply during annual enrollment, from October 15th until December 7th. Just be warned that your health conditions could factor into how much you have to pay, and you could end up paying a higher rate than if you applied when you were first eligible.

Aetna’s Network Gives You Coverage Options
No matter which insurance company you sign up for with a Medicare Advantage plan, you are going to be somewhat limited by the insurance company’s network. This determines where you can get full coverage, and the network is made up of any clinic, hospital, doctor’s office or other medical care facility that accepts the insurer’s plans. Aetna’s Medicare Advantage plans will not be accepted everywhere, so the network doesn’t extend across the entire country.

Aetna offers a stand HMO Advantage plan that gives you full coverage while you are on the network. As long as you go to a medical facility that has ana agreement with Aetna, you will be fully covered. Go to one that doesn’t have any agreement with them, though, and you will have to pay for the entirety of your healthcare services.
There is another option, though. You can enroll in the PPO Advantage plan. This kind of Aetna Advantage plan gives you full coverage on the network, but then it also covers you outside of the network. You can go to a doctor who doesn’t have any agreement with Aetna and get some coverage, thanks to the PPO plan. With that added coverage comes a higher price tag, but that could be something you are willing to pay in order to be covered in more places.
Aetna also offers HMO-POS plans. These Advantage plans are flexible and give you full coverage in the network but allow you to go outside the network for some of your healthcare services and not pay full price for them.
There are Special Needs Advantage plans as well that include exceptional discounts which are available to seniors who qualify as special needs customers. If you have or qualify for both Medicare and Medicaid, then you can sign up for this low-cost option.

Aetna Offers Great Medical Benefits
An Advantage plan includes powerful healthcare coverage, taking care of those expenses that the basic Medicare plan does not. Many seniors choose Medicare Advantage because their basic Medicare plan is failing them, leaving them with too many expenses to pay out of pocket. Medicare Advantage has a guaranteed base coverage that is pretty powerful on its own, but you can also get some high coverage plans that go way farther for you.
Aetna Medicare Advantage plans for 2021 will always cover you for all emergency medical care and for urgent care. This includes ambulance services, ER care, medical tests, medications and more, depending on the circumstances. Obviously, what is considered an emergency or urgently needed will vary based on your current situation.
Advantage plans will also give you coverage for most of your doctor’s office visits, hospital stays (even extended ones), surgery, nursing care, at-home care and more. They cover most Medicare Part A and Part B services, which includes a lot of inpatient and outpatient expenses that are very common for seniors.
You’ll be asked to pay a monthly premium and an annual deductible, in most cases. There are some Advantage plans that let you avoid having to pay one or the other of those, and we can help you search out the best deals and ensure you are saving as much money as possible.

High Coverage Advantage Plans from Aetna
Medicare Advantage plans are more than just the basic offering. All Advantage plans have that basic coverage, but Aetna has a very strong lineup to offer, and seniors should be able to find a plan that is a good fit for them. Whether you need a lot of extra coverage or just a little bit of additional coverage, there is likely an Aetna Medicare Advantage plan coming for 2021 that will work well for you.

The most common Advantage plan that Aetna will be offering is the Medicare Advantage Part D plan. This gives you all the basic coverage that we talked about, plus an entire prescription drug insurance plan. You’ll be well covered not just for those common inpatient, outpatient, emergency and urgent care costs, but you will also be covered for most prescription drug expenses. The Part D plan covers not just the basic, common, generic drugs, but it also covers the cost of some rare and name brand drugs. The Part D plans can so significantly reduce the cost of prescriptions that you only pay a dollar or so for each medication.
Aetna also offers Advantage plans that include checkup coverage. This can take care of the cost of routine visits to your general practitioner for your annual checkup, as well as visits to the optometrist, audiologist and dentist. Your regular cleanings, examinations and other basic services can be included in the coverage this powerful plan provides. You can even be covered for the cost of a new pair of eyeglasses or a hearing aid.
